Tableau shows up on the bill as seats and licenses. It is hard to staff. For a lot of mid-market owners and finance leads, the product has not moved in a way that justifies the cost. We move the reporting that actually runs the meeting onto Power BI, and we name a finish date for Tableau.

Seat and license spend is the first reason mid-market buyers leave. You are paying premium prices for capacity you can cover with ordinary Power BI seats.
Hard to support
Finding people who can keep Tableau running is slow and expensive. Operations and finance feel it when a workbook breaks or a server request stacks up.
The product is not moving with the work
Buyers who need a platform their next analyst can already run move to Power BI, where hiring and training are ordinary. A converter that copies workbooks is not that move. The measures, the grain, and the owner have to be rebuilt.
